Acceptable Use Policy

Requirements for using ChapterConnect responsibly and lawfully.

Draft pending legal review

This document accurately describes current product behaviour but is awaiting review by counsel. It is not yet a binding agreement.

1. Purpose

This policy describes what you may and may not do with ChapterConnect. It applies to organizations using the platform and to their administrators, officers, and members.

2. You must be authorized

You may only access a chapter workspace if you have been granted access by that chapter, and you may only perform actions your role permits. Attempting to reach another chapter’s data, escalate your own permissions, or bypass an entitlement is a material breach of this policy.

3. Prohibited conduct

  • Attempting to access data belonging to another chapter or customer
  • Probing, scanning, or load-testing the platform without written permission
  • Uploading malware, or content you do not have the right to distribute
  • Using the platform to send unlawful, harassing, or deceptive communications
  • Collecting member data for purposes outside your organization’s stated purpose
  • Impersonating another person, chapter, or organization
  • Circumventing usage limits, entitlements, or authentication controls

4. Governance records

Where governance features are available, you must not attempt to alter a certified result, submit more than one ballot in a single vote, or misrepresent attendance, eligibility, or quorum. The platform enforces these rules on the server, but attempting to defeat them is itself a violation.

5. Financial information

Do not enter payment card numbers, bank account credentials, or other sensitive financial identifiers into free-text fields. ChapterConnect is not a payment processor or a general ledger.

6. Member data and privacy

You are responsible for having a lawful basis to store and process the member information your organization enters, and for honoring the rights of your members with respect to it.

7. Content standards

Public-facing content published through the platform must not contain unlawful material, must not claim endorsement by any organization that has not endorsed you, and must not misrepresent your relationship to any fraternity, sorority, or association.

8. Suspension

We may suspend access to protect the platform, other customers, or the public, and will explain the reason and the remedy path where it is appropriate to do so.

9. Reporting

Report abuse or a security concern to security@chapterconnect.example.
